Evaluation Of Preduster in Cement Industry Based On Computational Fluid Dynamics

Abstract. This study investigated preduster performance as a cyclone separator in the cement industry by Computational Fluid Dynamic method. In general, the best performance of cyclone is it have relatively high efficiency with the low pressure drop. The most accurate and simpler turbulence model, Reynold Average Navier Stokes (RANS), was combined with Lagrangian model as particles tracking model. The measurement used to evaluating simulation result are flow pattern in the cyclone, pressure outlet and collection efficiency of preduster. The applied model well predicted by comparing experimental measurement.
