ABSTRACT
Halal food products, both processed and fresh ingredients, are an issue that is widely discussed by the community, especially in areas where most of the population are Muslims. Beef is one of the fresh ingredients which has been doubted its halalness. There are many issues that beef sold on the market is a mixture of beef cattle and wild boar pork. Wild boar is one of the ingredients that is forbidden by Islam and is harmful to health. The issue raises anxiety for Muslims when buying beef. One step that can be done to minimize the mixing of beef and boar pork is a method of tracking beef from breeders to consumers. This study will discuss the modeling of beef traceability system using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). UML is a method that is widely used in system design. The purpose of this study is to make a search model for beef cattle from upstream to downstream and determine what information should be included on the product. The output of this model is a traceability system design that can be developed into an information technology-based system. Fraud that occurs among sellers can be minimized because this system can detect fraudulent perpetrators mixing beef and boar pork. Data obtained from interviews with cattle ranchers, abattoirs (slaughterhouses), wholesalers, and retailers. The benefit of this research is being able to identify fraud committed by sellers and producers able to provide products that are healthy and lawful for consumers.
