Yunita Siti Mardhiyyah was presented at the AIC2023 – 15th Congress of the International Color Association in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

UISI - Research and AIC Conference: Color's impact extends into diverse aspects of human life, influencing choices and perceptions. This research delves into the realm of Indonesian herbal drinks, specifically Sinom and Kunyit Asem, to analyze the colors present and understand consumer preferences. The study was presented by Yunita Siti Mardhiyyah at the AIC2023 – 15th Congress of the International Color Association in Chiang Rai, Thailand that took place from November 28 to December 2, 2023. The conference was organized by The International Color Association (AIC) and Color Society of Thailand, with sponsorship from BAGIS. The presentation title was "Color Analysis and Consumer Preferences of Sinom and Kunyit Asem Drinks, Traditional Drinks from Indonesia," The research showcased notable differences in the color profiles of Sinom and Kunyit Asem. Sinom exhibited a spectrum from yellow to red, while Kunyit Asem displayed bright orange, bright brown, and bright brownish-red hues. Consumer preferences leaned towards bright yellow to bright orange for Sinom and bright orange for Kunyit Asem. Both drinks emerged as favorites among herbal beverage enthusiasts, with a consumption frequency of once a week. These products proved appealing to teenage and adult females due to their perceived health benefits. The study suggests the potential for developing Sinom and Kunyit Asem beverages with enhanced health benefits, preferred flavors, and vibrant colors. The findings lay the groundwork for future product innovations that align with consumer expectations and market demands.

International Collaboration and Academic Visit to Mae Fah Luang University: In addition to the AIC activities, the author seized the opportunity to engage in an academic visit to Mae Fah Luang University, fostering potential collaborations. The visit included discussions with Assistant Professor Dr. Chutamat Niwat, a lecturer in the Food Science and Technology Program at the School of Agroindustry. A team from the international collaboration section participated, exploring opportunities for academic collaboration between UISI University and Mae Fah Luang University. Prospects for student exchange activities, summer schools, research collaborations, lecturer exchanges, and other initiatives were identified, providing a foundation for future cooperation.

Cultural Exploration and Networking: The author took part in a study excursion to deepen their understanding of Thai culture. Visiting landmarks such as the White Temple, Blue Temple, and the Golden Triangle provided insights into Thai architecture and cultural evolution. This week-long academic activity not only expanded the author's personal collaboration network but also served as a platform to introduce the Department of Agro-Industrial Technology at Universitas Internasional Semen Indonesia(UISI) to an international audience. Numerous collaborations with researchers from diverse countries were initiated, further enriching the global academic network.

Student Engagement and Future Prospects: The author successfully invited a student, Laily Rahmadina Azzahra, sponsored by BAGIS, showcasing a commitment to fostering academic activities among the younger generation. As the only representative from Indonesia, UISI University now joins the ACA (ASEAN Color Association), with future aspirations to host conferences. This dual commitment to research and education aligns with the broader goals of knowledge dissemination and international collaboration.

Acknowledgments: This research and academic travel were made possible through the support of the JSPS Core-to-Core Program (grant number: JPJSCCB20220006), emphasizing collaborative efforts in advancing scientific knowledge.
